At the age of 19 She released her debut single Here. The song was an instant hit and received praise from critics and listeners alike. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it as 19. Even Rolling Stone called the single one of its Best Songs in the year 2015. The same year she launched her debut album Know It All, the track Scars to Your Beautiful ranked in the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200. It was also one of the five original songs. It was different due to the fact that many listeners were able to relate to her interview with rapper Rap-Up on her journey in learning to love and embrace her. Cara has earned a name for incorporating messages about mental health, kindness and love of self in her music. The music that she has written is derived from her own struggle in overcoming mental health issues as well as insomnia. In an Reuters interview she describes her album as half tumultuous and half perfected. The growth of her career was helped by therapy. She encourages others, if needed, to seek support. Alessia Cara grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was born on July 11th, 1996 to parents with Italian heritage. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar which became the foundation of her musical passion. In 2013, she covered some of her most loved songs on YouTube, a popular social media site. The goal was to prove that she had the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist. Sweater Weather became her most popular cover. The record label EP Entertainment EP Entertainment, noticed her and allowed her to write songs.
